You can now run claude ultrareview --trust-workspace to trust the current folder for one run, so reviews work in scripts and CI. Setting CLAUDE_CODE_DISABLE_ULTRAREVIEW_TRUST_CHECK skips the folder trust step when Claude Code cannot ask you. A new save_task_files tool saves files from a managed-agent task into your session folder. It asks for your approval every time. Uploading local files to MCP tools now defaults to on when Anthropic's servers send no setting. The hook settings disableAllHooks, allowedHttpHookUrls and httpHookAllowedEnvVars now sit on the managed-settings list next to allowManagedHooksOnly.

This release counts 14 entries that are in the build but not switched on yet. A Claude Test pane is taking shape that reads test runs from a .claude-test folder. Web search citations tied to parts of Claude's replies need CLAUDE_CODE_WEBSEARCH_CITATIONS and a remote switch. A CLAUDE_CODE_RESUME_SHOWS_CUT_OFF_CALLS setting is being added to show interrupted tool calls in a resumed session. Groundwork has also landed for listing connectors your organization provides.

Publishing an Artifact no longer checks pages against the PR review template. The pr_review and prReviewOn options are gone from the Artifact tool. Publishing a PR review page with extra files no longer stops with a single-file error. A tool that a setting used to switch on is now always off. Claude Code can also repair gaps in stored remote session history on load, when switched on remotely.

Written by our agent from the shipped bundle, not by Anthropic.

Five to try today

Picked from 14 you can use now
  1. Feedback submission gains survey follow-ups, a bundle mode and clearer refusal reasons

Feedback can now include survey follow-ups and a local bundle, and failed submissions say whether the org, the sign-in or the network was the cause

    Extensions
  2. New organisation setting: artifact_create_notice

Organisations can set an artifact_create_notice, defaulting to a message that a person must approve each new artifact

    Settings & config
  3. MCP config files are tracked, and a host can hand over a ready-made tool listing

--mcp-config file paths are now recorded and registered, and an MCP config can carry a pre-supplied tool listing so discovery can be skipped

    Extensions
  4. MCP status and sign-in requests can ask for a live-only reply

The mcp_status and mcp_authenticate requests gain a liveReply option that sends the answer only to clients attached right now, without saving it

    Extensions
  5. Result messages can report usage and cost since the previous result

In stream-json and --sdk-url runs, result messages can carry model_usage_since_last_result, per-model usage and cost since the last result

    Extensions

Anthropic’s official release notes

Published verbatim by Anthropic for v2.1.309. Text is unmodified from the upstream changelog. Everything else on this page came out of the bundle instead, which is why the two lists don't match.

Of these 79 bullets, 13 name something an entry on this page also names, 22 name something no entry here does, and 44 name nothing specific enough to line up either way. The pairings are made on names both sides wrote down, a flag or a setting or a slash command, so read one as probably the same thing rather than as a fact, and read the middle number as candidates rather than as a miss count.

  • Fixed sandboxed Bash commands on macOS and Linux running the shell's startup files outside the sandbox before each command Nothing to match on
  • Fixed macOS sandbox denyWrite glob patterns not applying at a path's real location when the pattern's folder is reached through a symlink No entry names this
  • Fixed sandboxed commands and auto-accepted edits being able to modify the MCP config file passed with --mcp-config Probably state-holder-gains-flagmcpconfigfilepaths, mcp-config-file-paths-are-checked-against-the-confine-scan
  • Fixed a disabled MCP server being reconnected by a later permission prompt in print and SDK sessions Nothing to match on
  • Fixed the Bash permission check trusting a variable set by a command whose redirect can fail to open Nothing to match on
  • Fixed Bash permission checks not prompting for some compound commands that change directory before running git when the cd is wrapped or prefixed, as they do for a plain cd Nothing to match on
  • Fixed an Edit(path) deny rule not blocking a Bash redirect to that path in some commands that also held a subshell No entry names this
  • Fixed worktree-isolated sessions accepting some locale-prefixed commands the isolation guard should refuse Nothing to match on
  • Fixed worktree-isolated sessions on zsh accepting some arithmetic commands that the isolation guard should refuse Nothing to match on
  • Fixed worktrees and branch checkouts that Claude Code creates so they ignore git replace refs, as its other git operations already do Nothing to match on
  • Fixed profile store write protection not applying when the config directory is reached through a symlink Nothing to match on
  • Fixed sessions compacting repeatedly after reading files under a very large nested CLAUDE.md; a nested CLAUDE.md over the size limit now loads only its start Nothing to match on
  • Fixed ctrl+enter (send now) only queuing a message when pressed before the response had started, and restarting a prompt's hooks while leaving the message queued when pressed while those hooks were running Nothing to match on
  • Fixed key-bound slash commands running in the shell from ! mode Nothing to match on
  • Fixed ctrl+o not showing messages from other agents and sessions that are still waiting to be delivered; they now appear in full under the transcript, marked as waiting Nothing to match on
  • Fixed long tool output previews being cut through an emoji, leaving session transcripts that jq could not parse Nothing to match on
  • Fixed Read reporting "File does not exist" for PDF page ranges in Linux sandboxes that share the parent's /proc Probably read-block-hardening-for-proc-and-devfd-paths, stdio-handling-for-subprocess-no-longer-assumes-proc #102816Read tool reports 'File does not exist' for images/PDFs inside a PID namespace: hardened read re-opens via /proc/${process.pid}/fd instead of /proc/self/fd (2.1.284–2.1.301) Closed #99853[BUG] Linux: PID namespace/procfs mismatch breaks PDF/.ipynb Read and single-file Grep, and can return another file's content Open

Documentation

What the docs did around this release

1141 documentation changes were recorded within 24 hours either side of this release, nearest first. The closest 12 are below. They're here because they happened near this release in time. That's not a claim that this release caused the edit, or that the page documents anything in it.

Every time above is when this site's poller recorded the change, which is up to half an hour after the edit on an ordinary read and up to a day after it on a full sweep. Upstream's own edit time is used instead wherever a capture carries one. None of these do.
