An MCP server is an outside program that gives Claude extra tools. Claude Code has a check that applies to an MCP server only when all of these hold:
- it connects over http
- its address matches
- it has been held since Claude Code started
This check has been moved into a separate helper. It behaves as before, and the server-side switch is still checked after it.
That switch is off unless it is switched on remotely. The flag server has returned it on for this site's account and for an anonymous check, switched on since the previous reading; no reading has been taken under this release yet.
The behaviour stays the same, and the feature behind it remains controlled by a server-side switch.
tengu_twinkling_cosmos Off by default, switched on for this accountThe shipped code defaults this off, and the flag server returned on for the one account this site reads on this version. That is the reading that makes the entry above worth a second look, and it still says nothing about your account.
This account: on · anonymous baseline: on · compiled default in v2.1.311: off
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
Read once, for one account on one subscription tier, against v2.1.311. It isn't a statement about your account. What a flag value here can and cannot tell you
