The sandbox is a fenced-off environment that limits what commands run by Claude can touch. While it starts, Claude Code shows "Starting the sandbox". After 15 seconds, the message now adds " · setting file permissions can take a few minutes".

Why

If the sandbox is slow to start, you now see why, instead of a spinner with no explanation.
