What

In auto mode, Claude Code uses a classifier, an automatic check that decides whether an action is safe to run without asking you. File edits that would be accepted anyway under accept-edits rules normally skip that check. Claude Code now drops that shortcut when an internal condition is set and a remote switch is on, so those edits go through the classifier too.

The switch is off by default, and the flag server returned off for this site's account and for an anonymous check.

Why

When this is switched on, more edits in auto mode are judged by the classifier instead of being let through automatically.

tengu_radiant_hare Off in both readings

The flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.

These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
