Claude Code's input box has an optional vim mode, which lets you edit text with keyboard commands from the Vim editor. Commands such as dd (delete a line), cc (change a line) and yy (copy a line) can take a count, so 3dd deletes three lines.
When the count is above one and the cursor is on the last line, these commands now do nothing. Before, they always ran regardless of where the cursor was. Vim behaves the same way. The command also now takes the cursor's position into account.
Why
Pressing something like 3dd on the last line no longer deletes that line, which matches what Vim users expect.
