What
The Bash tool is how Claude runs shell commands. Claude Code keeps usage data on Bash commands that get run again, and that data now records more:
- hashes of individual lines
- MCP calls, meaning calls to tools from connected servers
- counts of git records

Why
This is usage data only and changes nothing about how commands run. It shows work on spotting shell commands that are run again without need.
