What
Two behind-the-scenes changes:
- File lookups: when Claude Code walks a path one folder at a time, a folder that is a symbolic link (a pointer to another location) now ends the lookup. The lookup reports that the file was not found and that it refused that link. Before, each folder was only checked for being a folder.
- Stopping processes: when Claude Code sends a stop signal to a whole process group (a set of related programs), it now skips the members of that group in its one-by-one pass. Before, every process was also signalled on its own. The exception is
SIGKILL, the forced stop, which is still sent to each one.
Why
Refusing symbolic links stops a path from being redirected somewhere outside where it should lead. Skipping already-signalled processes avoids sending the same program the same signal twice.
