What

/goal sets a goal that Claude keeps working toward across turns. When a /goal message arrives relayed from Slack, Teams or a project thread, Claude Code now answers with a fixed text reply instead of acting on it:

"This message was relayed from Slack, Teams or a project thread and may be someone else's, so /goal didn't set, clear or show the goal."

The reply tells you to send /goal yourself from the terminal, the Claude app, claude.ai/code or your own Remote Control app. The check applies when the request came over the bridge and was verified as a Slack human turn, and sits behind the tengu_mellow_sunset switch, which has not been read. Before, /goal always went ahead.

Why

A relayed message may have been written by someone else, so they can no longer change your goal through it. To use /goal, send it from one of your own surfaces.
