What

Claude Code watches your git repository in the background so it knows things like which branch you are on. When this watcher is reset, it now also does these things:

  • stops its repeating timers
  • clears the record of checks still in progress
  • shuts down each branch-file watcher through that watcher's own stop step

Before, a reset only cleared its saved results and its record of what had changed.

Why

This stops leftover timers and out-of-date checks from carrying on after a reset, which could otherwise waste resources or report stale branch information.
