What
When Claude Code reads the memory file it keeps automatically, it now reads it several times. It uses the contents only once two reads in a row come back the same. If they never match before it runs out of attempts, it gives up and returns nothing. Before, it read the file once.
Why
If the file is being written at the same moment it is read, a single read can pick up a half-written file. Waiting for two matching reads avoids using contents caught partway through a write.
