What
Every session has a working directory, the folder Claude Code treats as "here". When Claude Code moves a session to another folder, it does two things: it changes folder, then it records the new folder as the session's current one. If that second step refuses the new folder, Claude Code now changes back to the previous folder. Before, the two steps ran separately and nothing was undone.
If changing back also fails, Claude Code reports that it is still in the refused folder.
Why
A failed move no longer leaves the session in a folder different from the one it thinks it is in.
