Unclear Which shells take this new branch is not settled.
What
Before running commands, Claude Code takes a snapshot of your shell setup, such as aliases (short names you define for longer commands), so its commands behave like your own terminal. In one branch of that snapshot step, Claude Code used to record nothing about aliases. It now writes out your alias list there.
It uses one of two ways to list them depending on the shell. One of them keeps at most 1001 lines.
Why
Your aliases may now be available to Claude Code's commands in more shells than before.
