Unclear Which two tools are affected, and whether they are still approved automatically while the switch is off, is not settled.

What

Auto mode has a list of tools it approves without asking you. For two particular tools, it now checks a remote switch first. Before, it went straight to the list. The switch is off unless Anthropic's servers switch it on.

The same switch is also checked in several other places that concern the same two tools.

Why

Depending on the switch, these two tools may no longer be approved automatically. Auto mode's classifier, the checker that decides on actions, or a prompt to you would handle them instead.
