What
Hooks are your own commands that Claude Code runs at set moments. SessionStart hooks run when a session begins or resumes. Claude Code can now hold these hooks back until some other step has finished. If the session is cancelled while they are waiting, they do not run at all. Before, they ran straight away.
Why
This lets Claude Code delay SessionStart hooks until, for example, trust or setup is settled, so they do not run too early.
