What
Auto mode lets Claude Code carry out actions without asking you each time, relying on a safety check to decide what is allowed. A subagent is a helper agent that Claude starts to work on part of a task. When a subagent is stopped because that safety check does not run for this session, or keeps returning no result, Claude Code now gives the model a message that says:
the agent was stopped because the safety check is unavailable
nobody interrupted it
its output is only partial
it should tell you what is blocked
Why
A subagent stopped this way now explains itself instead of failing silently. You should hear that auto mode's check is unavailable and what work could not finish.
