Unclear Whether the autonomous-operation guidance text is still sent to Claude, and from where, is not stated.
Claude Code has guidance for Claude that begins "You are operating autonomously. The user is not watching in real time". It is meant for sessions running without you watching. The check that decides whether this guidance applies used to return the full guidance text, or nothing. It now returns only yes or no. The guidance text is no longer written in that check.
The check still depends on a server-controlled setting that falls back to on when the server sends nothing. Readings taken before this release found it on, both for this site's account and for an anonymous one.
The autonomous-operation guidance may now reach Claude in a different way. That could change how Claude behaves in sessions you leave running on their own.
tengu_amber_sextant On for this account, and not off by defaultThe flag server returned on for the one account this site reads, and nothing in this release compiles it off by default. The compiled default is shown below, and says which it is when we cannot read one: a fifth of gates compile in a string or a number rather than on or off, and most published releases have no gate table behind them at all. No client can see what the server returns for your account.
This account: on · anonymous baseline: on · compiled default in v2.1.312: on
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
