What
The system prompt is the standing set of instructions Claude receives. One sentence in it says the system will automatically compress earlier messages as the conversation nears its limit. Whether that sentence is included is now decided by a value passed in by whatever builds the prompt, instead of by a fixed check. Another part of the prompt builder also takes an extra value.
Why
In some situations the system prompt may include or leave out this sentence differently than before.
