What
An ignore file lists file patterns to leave out. A pattern starting with ! is a negation: it brings back files an earlier pattern left out. When Claude Code builds its list of files for suggestions, it now reads these ! patterns and uses them to put the matching files back. Before, every pattern was simply added to the set of ignored files.
Why
The files offered when you type @ to mention a file can change: files you re-included with ! can now appear.
