What

A remote session is one where Claude Code runs on another machine, such as in the cloud. When you interrupt one, Claude Code sends a request to stop it. That request used to be a single attempt using one source of login credentials. It now chooses between two credential sources, and the request goes through a helper that can retry it. The helper is set not to wait for a host to become available.

Why

Interrupting a session running in the cloud should succeed more often.
