Claude Code checks a server-controlled switch, tengu_foamy_spring, in many places. Before this change, the check counted it as on unless the server set it to false. It now goes through a shared check that also counts it as on in two more cases:
- when there is no way to read server settings at all
- when reading the setting fails with an error
The switch is on unless the server explicitly turns it off, and that now holds even when settings cannot be read. Many parts of Claude Code consult it, so whatever it controls is in effect for anyone the server has not switched off.
tengu_foamy_spring Not enough to sayNothing here resolved what this flag was doing on this version, so nothing here should be read as on or off.
