Compaction is when Claude Code shrinks a long conversation into a summary so it fits. When compaction fails, the "Error during compaction:" message is now built from a fixed prefix followed by the error detail. The wording you see is likely the same as before.
Why
A fixed prefix means compaction errors may now be recognised in other places by that prefix.
