What
Compaction is when Claude Code shrinks a long conversation so it fits in what the model can hold. The usage data Claude Code reports about compaction now includes more detail on work it does ahead of time to prepare one. There is also a new report for when a classifier used during compaction overflows. A report about prefetching for a cloud MCP connection was removed.
