What

This covers two separate changes:

  • Code element: this element, which shows code in the interface, no longer rejects content that is not a unified diff. A unified diff is the standard format for showing changes between files. The element now only checks that its wrap setting is "wrap" or "truncate-end".
  • Compaction reasons: compaction is how Claude Code shortens a long conversation by summarising older messages. The list of reasons it can record gains five: covered messages changed, a kept message is missing, a reply was not seen, saved rows could not be read, and the result would not fit.
Why

Compaction now records more specific reasons when it falls back.
