Unclear It is not clear what the new switch controls.
What
Claude in Chrome lets Claude work in your Chrome browser. Claude Code holds a piece of guidance saying Claude in Chrome needs no enabling. That guidance has moved, and a new switch, tengu_violin_guarneri, now sits in its old place. Anthropic's server can turn the switch on or off per account. It is off unless switched on remotely.
The last readings, taken under an earlier release, found it off for this site's account and for a signed-out baseline.
Why
A switch that is off by default points to a change in how Claude is told about Chrome that has not been turned on yet.

The flag server returned off for the account this site reads and for the anonymous baseline. A reading of off cannot rule out a rollout these two readings sit outside of.
