Unclear What puts a session into diskless mode is not stated.
What
A diskless session is one that avoids writing files to your computer. In such a session, Claude Code now:
- skips creating the tool-results folder, where it keeps output from the actions it runs
- skips adding to a file it would otherwise write to
- skips one other save to local storage
Before, the tool-results folder was always created.
Why
This is part of a mode in which Claude Code avoids leaving files behind on the machine it runs on.
