What
Claude Code sends usage events (records of how it is used) to Anthropic. When it runs inside a claude-code-server setup, a hosted arrangement where a server runs Claude Code, it now needs a grant to send them. Without one, it collects events but sends none.
In that setup:
Dropped events and failed sends, such as a switched-off sender or a rate limit, are reported back to the grant.
The queue of waiting events has a size limit.
The event recording which experiments are active is not sent.
Why
Server-hosted use of Claude Code cannot send first-party usage events unless it was started with a grant that allows it.
