When it runs inside a claude-code-server setup, a hosted arrangement where a server runs Claude Code, it now needs a grant to send them. Without one, it collects events but sends none.\n\nIn that setup:\n\n- Dropped events and failed sends, such as a switched-off sender or a rate limit, are reported back to the grant.\n\n- The queue of waiting events has a size limit.\n\n- The event recording which experiments are active is not sent.\n\n**Why**\n\nServer-hosted use of Claude Code cannot send first-party usage events unless it was started with a grant that allows it.\n\n- Area: Telemetry\n- Tier: You'll notice\n- Useful: 2\/5\n- Signal: 3\/5\n- Scope: org\n- Heads-up: no"}
