What
Organizations can manage Claude Code through policy settings, which are rules an administrator sets for everyone in the organization. Some of these settings arrange named items into groups. Until now a group could only list item names. A group entry can now also be an object that restates some of the settings of a named item.
There are also new checks on how groups are written. A group may name each entry only once.
Why
Administrators get finer control when they configure Claude Code by group. A group that names the same entry twice is now rejected, so it is worth checking existing policy files for repeated names.
