What
On macOS, Claude Code now converts file paths to one standard Unicode form, called NFC, when it tidies them up for comparison. Unicode is the system computers use to represent text. An accented letter such as é can be stored either as one character or as a plain letter followed by a separate accent mark, and NFC always uses the single-character form. Before, paths were left in whatever form they arrived in. Other operating systems are unaffected.
Why
File names with accents or other combined characters could look identical but fail to match because they were stored differently. On macOS they should now match consistently.
