When Claude Code loads settings, it now checks allowedProviders and reports an error in these cases:

  • The value is not a list
  • An entry in the list is not text
  • An entry names a provider Claude Code does not know. The error lists the names it does know.

Names that are not valid are dropped from the settings Claude Code uses.

Why

A typo in allowedProviders used to pass through silently. Now it is flagged, so check the error message for the correct provider names.
