What
Claude Code builds an index used to replay a conversation transcript. When building it fails for any reason other than the file not existing, Claude Code now writes an error to its log and counts the failure. Before, the error was only passed to the error reporter.
Why
This makes these failures easier to see when diagnosing problems with transcripts.
