Unclear It is not clear whether the Remote Control fallback is gone in every way a move can be started.
What
When you move a session from your terminal to the cloud, the cloud session now starts with a permission mode worked out from your current permissions and proactivity level. A permission mode is the setting that decides how often Claude asks before acting, passed with --permission-mode. Before, only plan was carried over and any other mode was dropped.
Other changes to the move:
- Remote Control fallback: the move no longer falls back to Remote Control when copying the session is not possible.
- Permission changes during the move: Claude Code now also checks the proactivity level when deciding whether your permissions changed while the move was under way.
- Ended conversations: a conversation that Claude ended can no longer be moved to the cloud. Claude Code shows "Claude ended this conversation, so it can't go on here or in the cloud."
