Unclear Which files this applies to, and what Claude Code does differently when it sees the marker, is not known.
What
When Claude Code tries to read or parse a file and fails, the result now carries a marker meaning "failed for now". On some kinds of error, Claude Code also throws away its stored copy of that file before returning the result. Together these appear to treat the failure as temporary rather than final.
Why
This can change what happens after a read error that clears up on its own, such as whether Claude Code tries the file again or falls back to something else.
