What
Hooks are your own scripts that Claude Code runs at set points, and PostToolUse hooks run after a tool call succeeds. A tool call is one action Claude takes, such as editing a file. Some tools discard their result when you interrupt them with Esc. For those tools, Claude Code can now hold the interrupt back until the PostToolUse hooks have finished.
This sits behind a setting that Anthropic controls remotely.
