Unclear What Claude Code does differently when a path matches the list is not stated.
What
On Linux and on WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux, which runs Linux inside Windows), Claude Code can now ask the system what kind of filesystem holds a given path. A filesystem is the way a disk or drive stores files. Claude Code compares the answer against a fixed list of filesystem types. If the system cannot answer, Claude Code treats the path as one of the listed types.
Why
In practice, when this check cannot be completed, Claude Code takes the cautious branch and assumes the path is on one of the listed filesystem types.
