Connectors are links from claude.ai to other services that can supply files and tools. Claude Code now has an organisation policy entry, allow_connector_file_downloads, labelled "Downloading files from claude.ai connectors", with requirement ID HIPAA-R114.

  • Under the hipaa and zdr policies, it is denied.
  • If Claude Code has no saved answer for the policy, it denies.
  • If the policy check fails and would normally let things through, it still denies.

Organisations under these compliance policies lose file downloads from claude.ai connectors by default.
