What
/color sets the color of the prompt bar for the current session. In some sessions it no longer saves the color only on your own machine. It sends the color to the cloud session, which is the copy of the session kept online.
/color now reports whether that save worked. If it did not, it tells you what to do next, for example to run /color again. If the terminal cannot reach the cloud session, Claude Code says the color applies on this screen only.
Why
If you use cloud sessions, these messages tell you when a color will not show up elsewhere or after you leave the session.
