Unclear It is not clear what the switch changes in WebFetch's instructions when it is on.
WebFetch is the tool Claude uses to read a web page. A new remotely controlled switch is now passed in when Claude Code builds WebFetch's instructions, and is recorded in two kinds of WebFetch usage data. The switch defaults off, and with that default WebFetch behaves as before.
Only a value sent by Anthropic's server could change WebFetch's instructions, so there is nothing to notice until that happens.
