What
tengu_marble_heron is a switch that Anthropic's servers can set for each account. It is no longer read as a single number. Claude Code now reads it as a small group of settings, using an empty group ({}) when the server sends nothing.
enabledandautoArmare each read as true or false, and a missing value counts as true.- The result is further limited by three other checks that were not traced.
- The release notes describe the built-in fallback moving from 8 to true. That exact change was not found in the code; the fallback only matters when the server sends nothing.
- One finding saw the name only as a plain text value in the bundle, with no readers traced.
Nothing has been read about whether this switch is set for any account.
Why
The built-in fallback had recently become the number 8. It now treats the switch as on by default with two sub-settings, so where the server says nothing the feature behind it would count as enabled and auto-armed. What the switch actually controls is still not visible in the code.
tengu_marble_heron Not enough to sayNothing here resolved what this flag was doing on this version, so nothing here should be read as on or off.
This account: no value returned · anonymous baseline: no value returned · compiled default in v2.1.318: not a boolean we can read
These values were read against a different version of Claude Code, so treat them as the nearest reading available instead of one taken on this release.
