Unclear What the further check tests is not clear, so it is unknown when audio capture or clipboard support would stop working.
What
Claude Code uses native modules, small compiled add-ons, for audio capture and the clipboard. It first tries the module built into Claude Code. If that does not work, it used to fall back to separate module files that ship alongside it.
Before that fallback, it now checks a server-controlled setting. When the setting is on and a further check fails, Claude Code does not fall back to the separate files at all.
Why
This can stop the fallback module files from loading, which matters if audio capture or the clipboard depends on them on your machine.
