Unclear It is not stated which mcpServerPolicy entries become ask rules rather than allow rules.

What

MCP servers are add-ons that give Claude Code extra tools. Permission rules decide whether Claude may use a tool without asking you. mcpServerPolicy entries now feed into two kinds of rule:

  • Always-allow rules: entries are merged with the existing always-allow rules. Before, these came only from the always-allow rules themselves.
  • Ask rules: a filtered set of entries now decides when Claude asks you first.
Why

Whether Claude asks before using some MCP tools may change.
