What

Claude Code has a keep-alive check that decides whether a session is still active. It is now told whether the session is waiting on nothing except a permission card, the prompt asking you to approve an action. That answer is worked out from the session's state, its running tasks, its message queue and the tools in use.

Why

This could change when a session running without a screen, or a remote one, counts as idle or is kept running.
