What
Forking a session makes a copy of it that you can continue separately, and the copy's title gets a " (fork)" label. Claude Code now strips every repeated " (fork)" from the end of a title and counts them, and also reads labels in the form "(fork N)". The next copy then gets a single label with the number raised by that count, such as "(fork 2)".
Before, only one label at the end was read.
Why
Forking the same line of work several times now gives tidy numbered titles instead of a growing string of "(fork) (fork)".
