What

A program Claude Code runs can start other programs of its own, called child processes. These belong to the same process group, which is a set of related processes. When Claude Code stops such a program, it now also stops each member of that group one by one, not only the main process.

Why

Fewer child processes are left running in the background after something has been stopped.
