What
A cloud session can use tools on your own computer, such as running commands or reading files there. Claude Code now has two messages for when this is switched off because the versions do not fit:
Claude on this computer is too old for the cloud session. The message asks you to update the Claude app or Claude Code and then open the session again.
The cloud session's Claude Code is too old for this computer. The message asks you to start a new session.
Why
The messages show that Claude Code checks whether the versions fit before it lets a cloud session use tools on your computer, and they tell you which side needs updating.
