What

PEM is a common text format for security certificates. A PEM file starts with a line such as -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE----- and is followed by an encoded block of text. When Claude Code converts certificates to PEM, it now breaks that block into lines of 64 characters. Before, the block was one unbroken line.

Why

Some programs that read certificates are strict and reject PEM files with very long lines. Those programs can now read the certificates Claude Code produces.
