What
Claude Code could already pass a project's knowledge documents to the model. It now also gathers documents uploaded to the project, reads their text and attaches it to the request. Some uploads are skipped, for example when a file has no text or is too large to fetch.
This part only runs when a feature flag is on, and without a value from the server that flag is off. The existing project documents step also only runs in certain environments, such as remote cowork.
Why
Where it is switched on, the model can see the text of your uploaded documents, not just the project knowledge.
