What
Claude Code now knows a new environment variable (a named value handed from one program to the programs it starts), CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_BEGAN_AS_COPY. It is passed on to the programs Claude Code starts, in the same lists as CLAUDE_CODE_SESSION_ORIGIN, which describes where a session came from.
Why
Programs started from Claude Code can now see this variable alongside the others that describe a session's origin.
