What
When a remote session starts, Claude Code registers itself with the server. This used to be tried twice with a fixed two-second wait. It now retries with a wait that grows with each attempt and is slightly randomised.
It retries on timeouts (408), too many requests (429), server errors (5xx), or no reply at all.
It stops if the session is cancelled.
Why
Remote sessions are better able to get through a short outage instead of failing to start.
