Unclear Whether any keys or characters behave differently in a given terminal is not stated.
What
Two changes affect how Claude Code reads and draws text in the terminal:
- Text width: some pairs of characters now count once when Claude Code measures how much room text takes.
- Key codes: terminals send hidden codes for keys such as arrows. Claude Code no longer sorts codes that start with ESC followed by O into their own group.
Why
Some characters may line up differently on screen, and some keys may be read differently.
